Millennials Shaping The Real Estate Industry From The Inside and Out

During the month of June we’ve been discussing the millennial generation and their influence on both the real estate industry and home ownership.

Millennials, born between 1981 and 1996, represent about 20% of the home buying power and have a great deal of influence over older generations.

The 2019 First Time Buyer Home Ownership study is the summarized findings of a survey of Canadians who purchased their first home within the past 2 years. 36% were between the ages of 30-40.

The top shopping criteria includes price, safety of neighbourhood and the size of the home. Though, 48% of first time home buyers would buy a smaller home closer to work compared to buying something cheaper with a longer commute.

Our Expert Series this month was a featured Millennial Mastermind Panel.

Our panellists shared their experiences and thoughts on doing business as a millennial real estate sales representative and how to best service the millennials they work with.
